The School of Arts and Humanities
The School of Arts and Humanities (SAH) is one of the largest at ECU with many diverse academic disciplines arranged into three main clusters: Creative Humanities; Psychology, Counselling, and Criminology; and Social Sciences, Social Work, and Youth Work. The School operates across four campuses, with more than 100 academic and professional staff, and has a strong online education presence. The diversity of the School is a strength, enabling interdisciplinary innovation, a sustainable financial platform, and many opportunities for collaborations with industry and community. In 2026, the school will begin to operate its Creative Humanities program from our new ECU City Campus while maintaining and expanding operations at the Joondalup and South-West (regional) campuses and building our program at the newly opened ECU Sri Lanka campus.
About The Opportunity
Bring your expertise as a creative writer and educator to ECU's Creative Writing program in this fixed-term teaching-focused role until February 2027. We are seeking a skilled writer and teacher to coordinate units and teach into the Bachelor of Creative Writing and/or the Master of Creative Writing (accelerated online). You'll be part of the Creative Humanities team at our new ECU City Campus—an innovative hub where technology, industry and creativity intersect.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
A PhD in Creative Writing or substantial progress towards a PhD
A record of creative publications across genres (e.g. fiction, non-fiction, screenwriting, poetry) and/or publishing industry? experience
Experience teaching Creative Writing, ideally including with online delivery
The ability to work independently to deliver high quality?teaching outcomes
A strong commitment to unit delivery and teaching excellence
A collaborative mindset and willingness to support the Creative Writing team and the School of Arts and Humanities.
