About Us

Perrys Fuel Distributors was established in 1949 and has been family owned and operated since its establishment, from our head office based in Crystal Brook. We currently own, operate or supply over eighty-five retail sites from where our customers can purchase fuel with a fleet of delivery vehicles and a number of regional fuel depots. We are one of the largest independently owned fuel distribution companies in South Australia.

The Role

We are searching for a highly skilled and passionate Food Development Manager to perform an integral management role overseeing our overall food operations and driving the commercial aspects of the food offerings across all our stores.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar leadership position, a flair for creativity and a passion for food and customer service. They must be able to multitask, whilst driving revenue through commercially viable opportunities.

This role will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the operation of our food preparation and sales, with a focus on growing revenue and financial performance.

Reporting to the Retail Manager, your role will be to support them in:

- The management of the efficient day to day operations of the food aspects of the business as a multi-site operator

- Leading retail operations for all facets of the food and beverage within the business, including sales, retail execution, merchandising, operations, training, compliance and WHS.

- Development and creation of new products for our food range.

- Management and Execution of all food safety requirements within our network.

- Ensuring all operational issues such as repairs and maintenance are logged and managed for all equipment

You will also be required to support members of the management team on projects within the business and travel to retail sites will be required. Due to the number of stores we have, and the locations, there will be a reasonable amount of travel required for this role.

The candidate will be required to be on-call when necessary.

What We are Seeking

The successful applicant will need to possess a strong work ethic, can-do attitude and demonstrate initiative to deliver outcomes. As no two days are the same, so you'll need to be comfortable with change and resilient to deal with challenges as they arise. Ideally you will possess the following experience, characteristics and skills:

- Experience leading people (advantageous, but not essential);

- Food safety experience;

- Strong knowledge and experience with food operations, industry trends and best practises;

- Experience in a similar role with multi-site operations;

- Demonstrated high level customer service principles and practices;

- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel);

- Ability to create reports, analyse & interpret data;

- Well organised and able to prioritise tasks;

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal); and

- Problem-solving, resilient and resourceful.
