About the Role

DEED's Strategy, Performance and International Engagement provides strategic policy advice on state development issues and supports a network of international offices to promote Western Australia and its industries and encourages strategic investment and trade opportunities.

As the Senior Business and Strategy Officer, you'll be part of the Investment Attraction division that is shaping Western Australia's investment future and playing a pivotal role in diversifying the State's economy. In this role you will contribute to the growth of investment into Western Australia through the provision of client-focused services and creation of materials and resources to make it easier for investors to navigate government services, incentives and support programs in alignment with the Department's and broader Government strategic objectives.

You'll help to bring together investment-related information from across the Department and broader Government, complete research and analysis to inform reporting and development of investment advocacy materials, contribute to key projects, and prepare clear, professional documents such as agendas, minutes, presentations, ministerial correspondence and briefing notes. You'll research industry trends, assess business capability and develop strategic content that supports Government priorities, while also helping to maintain and improve the Department's customer relationship management systems.

You'll represent the Department at meetings, forums and industry events, championing the State's strengths and building the relationships that turn interest into investment. Collaboration is essential, and you'll work closely with agencies, industry partners and stakeholders to ensure coordinated, timely responses that support business growth and economic development. Your ability to build trust, communicate with influence and maintain strong networks will be central to your success.

To excel, you'll be confident in transforming research and data analysis into clear, high?'quality written materials that inform and persuade, and you'll have a natural ability to form productive, cooperative relationships across diverse sectors. Above all, you'll bring a genuine commitment to exceptional service, grounded in integrity, professionalism and a passion for helping investors unlock the full potential of Western Australia.
