Sportsco Mornington is a family owned sports retail store located in Mornington Shopping Centre. As part of the national Sportsco franchise, we specialize in offering quality sports footwear and apparel, stocking global brands including Nike, Brooks, Adidas, Converse, and Crocs.
**What we're looking for**:
We're on the hunt for a casual retail sales assistant who can work as part of a team to deliver great, authentic customer service. Applicants should have a can-do attitude, an interest in sport and fitness, and a willingness to build employment skills to help develop their career.
**Essentials**:
- High-energy, friendly and authentic personality with an interest in sport
- Outstanding communication skills as well as a high standard of personal presentation
- Basic knowledge of sport and sports fashion brands. If you play a sport or have in the past, pop it on your resume!
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- After school and weekend availability during the school term
- As a casual employee in the retail space, **weekend and school holiday availability** is ESSENTIAL. Those who take regular holidays during the Easter, Christmas and Summer periods need not apply, as these are our busiest times of the year with plenty of shifts to go around!
**Responsibilities and duties**:
- Greet customers when they walk through the door
- Build rapport with customers through conversation and honest recommendations
- Ability to pick up product knowledge as new products and technologies (such as arch support and cushioning) are released. Full training is provided by our friendly owners, managers, and senior staff.
- Ad-hoc day-to-day tasks as required and general store upkeep.
