The Role
- Prepare initial cost estimates for construction tenders or bids.
- Analyse project documents, including blueprints and specifications, to determine requirements.
- Procure and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor costs during construction to keep projects on budget.
- Provide cost comparisons, identify cost-saving opportunities, and advise on project feasibility.
The Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field
- 2-5 years of quantity surveyor or estimating experience, ideally in residential construction.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Display the confidence to go for it, make mistakes and learn from them
