Position Information
Cootamundra High School is a rural comprehensive school serving approximately 220 students, including three multi-categorical support classes and an off-campus Outreach Centre supporting students with complex needs. The school values Respect, Responsibility and Excellence, fostering a respectful, inclusive and high-expectation learning environment guided by the mantra Teachers Teach, Students Learn, Be Kind.
With a Family Occupation and Employment Index of 128 and 13% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, the school acknowledges its location on Gudhamangdhuray Wiradjuri land and recognises the history and resilience of the Stolen Generations. Students access a broad curriculum, including Vocational Education and Training through Cootamundra TAFE, and consistently achieve strong HSC outcomes.
Student engagement, wellbeing and learning are supported through inclusive facilities, strong partnerships, Hands On Learning, The Resilience Project, and a Positive Behaviour for Learning framework. Recent upgrades to learning spaces and ICT, together with a professional learning culture focused on evidence-based practice and the effective use of data, continue to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.
