Full Time – 38 Hours Per Week | Ongoing

Based in Shepparton

Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative (RAC) – Health & Wellbeing is seeking a passionate and committed Dual Diagnosis Worker to join our team. RAC is a community-controlled organisation that has supported Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the Goulburn Valley since 1980. With more than 300 staff, we deliver holistic and culturally safe services across health, ageing, disability, justice, family, housing, and community. We are proud to play a leadership role in improving health and wellbeing outcomes for our people.

About the Role

The Dual Diagnosis Worker will provide culturally safe support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use issues. This role focuses on:

* Engaging clients through trauma-informed, person-centred care
* Delivering culturally appropriate assessments, care planning, and case management
* Supporting relapse prevention, early intervention, and harm minimisation strategies
* Working collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Workers, Elders, families, and local services
* Strengthening clients' connection to culture, family, and community while addressing their social and emotional wellbeing needs

About You - Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

* Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) or similar settings
* Qualifications in mental health, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), social work, or a related field (desirable)
* Demonstrated knowledge of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, culture, and the factors influencing health and wellbeing
* Understanding of dual diagnosis (co-occurring mental health and substance use) frameworks and approaches
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with community members and colleagues
* Ability to support people using a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach
* Strong advocacy, case management, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and cross-cultural team
* High level of discretion and confidentiality
