About the Role
We are seeking an entrepreneurial Business Development Director to join a globally recognised luxury interior design and architecture studio as their first hire in Australasia. This hands‐on, founding role offers the opportunity to establish the business, build brand presence, develop client relationships, and secure high‐value luxury residential and hospitality projects.
Working closely with regional and global leadership, you'll drive business development strategy, manage a robust project pipeline, and contribute directly to the studio's expansion and success in Australia.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for Australasia
2. Build and maintain relationships with UHNW individuals, family offices, luxury developers, and hospitality groups
3. Identify and secure new business opportunities, including luxury residential and hospitality projects
4. Manage pre‐sales and bid support, proposals, and client presentations
5. Maintain a detailed pipeline and track prospects and opportunities
6. Collaborate with regional leadership and design teams to align strategy and ensure smooth project handovers
7. Attend events, build brand awareness, and cultivate partnerships across Australasia
What We're Looking For
8. 10+ years of business development, sales, or client‐facing experience in luxury interior design, architecture, real estate development, or hospitality
9. Proven track record generating revenue and closing high‐value contracts
10. Established network of UHNW clients, luxury developers, or hospitality operators in Australasia
11. Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate semi‐independently in a start‐up / market‐entry environment
12. Exceptional relationship‐building, communication, and negotiation skills
13. Willingness to travel extensively across Australasia and internationally
