Emergency Medicine Leader
This is a key leadership role within our Emergency Department, where you will be responsible for delivering safe and high-quality care to over 30,000 presentations each year. The department operates across thirty-one treatment spaces, including two resuscitation bays and a fast-track cubicle area.
You will provide strategic vision and leadership to a diverse team of emergency physicians, career medical officers and registrars. This will involve working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and Critical Care Services Manager to ensure a strong, collegiate team-based approach.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in emergency medicine services, with private sector experience advantageous. You will also require current, unencumbered Specialist AHPRA registration and Fellowship with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert supervision, advice and mentoring to medical staff.
Collaborate with nursing leadership to improve health outcomes and patient experience.
Communicate effectively with inpatient services to ensure secure patient handover.
Monitor consumer service delivery with a focus on person-centred care.
Contribute to reviews of emergency service provision and employment models.
Undertake duties within the ED and hospital, representing the department as required.
Requirements:
Current, unencumbered Specialist AHPRA registration.
Fellowship with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM).
Significant experience in emergency medicine services; private sector experience advantageous.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of clinical governance and related frameworks.
Leadership experience is valued but not essential.
