Position: Motor Mechanic | Position Type: Full-Time | Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum | Location: Narre Warren, VIC
Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join their team in Narre Warren, Victoria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure secure and effective operation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
* Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other parts for inspection and repair.
* Repair or replace worn and defective components and reassemble mechanical systems according to manufacturer specifications and service manuals.
* Perform scheduled maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune‐ups, and other preventative maintenance tasks.
* Reassemble engines and vehicle parts after repairs are completed.
* Test and adjust repaired mechanical parts to ensure proper performance and vehicle safety.
* Use computer diagnostic equipment to identify faults and test vehicle systems and components.
* Inspect vehicles and identify work required to meet roadworthiness standards.
* Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls when required.
Requirements
* Certificate III and Certificate IV (or higher) in a relevant automotive trade qualification.
* Minimum 12 months' experience working as a Motor Mechanic.
* Current valid driver's licence.
* Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
* Ability to use diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment.
* Positive problem‐solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Solid attention to detail and commitment to safety.
