Mechanical Designer

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our current group of passionate engineers, designers and project managers. The role can be offered on a permanent full or part time basis as we encourage our people to find an arrangement that works for them. This role can be based at Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle or Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
- Import & manipulate vendor drawings/models.
- Produce detailed mechanical drawings/models including P&ID;’s.
- Export equipment/piping quantities.
- Collaborate with Mechanical/Process engineers to deliver plans for construction.
- Support project teams with documentation, revisions and coordination of drawings/models.
- Establishing & maintaining design templates and drawing standards.
About You
You’ll be seeking fulfilment through autonomy, career flexibility, and working for a business that provides purpose and relevance in what you do. With outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and drive successful project outcomes, you’ll have experience working in a consulting setting, delivering projects as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-office team.
Qualifications
- Relevant TAFE qualifications, diploma, or degree in drafting, engineering, or design.
Skills and Experience
- Proficient with CAD and Autodesk Plant 3D
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, operational practices, and relevant Australian standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
