The Opportunity
The Department of Economics is seeking a Level D Academic to provide strategic leadership and advance excellence in research, teaching, professional engagement, and policy development within the discipline. This role strengthens the academic standing of the department, contributes to the University's strategic objectives, and enhances impact across scholarly communities and broader society.
Responsibilities
Leading advanced research initiatives, maintaining a strong publication record, and supervising research students and early‐career researchers. Driving the development of competitive research funding, contributing to curriculum planning and academic governance, supporting high‐quality teaching outcomes, expanding HDR engagement, and building strategic collaborations across the University and with external national and international partners.
Qualifications
Internationally recognised scholarly expertise in economics, supported by a strong and sustained research trajectory. Proven capacity to secure diverse research funding, supervise postgraduate researchers, and deliver high‐quality teaching. Advanced academic leadership capability, experience engaging with policy and government sectors, and alignment with strategic research priorities within the discipline.
