About This Leadership Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Peer Wellbeing Navigators in supporting and representing people impacted by mental illness, psychological distress, and substance use or addiction.
The successful candidate will have personal experience of mental illness or psychological distress and recovery, as well as leadership experience in the health or community services sector.
This role involves leading a dedicated Wellbeing Team, drawing on the navigator's own lived experience of recovery. The team provides support and representation for people impacted by mental illness, psychological distress, and substance use or addiction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a team of Peer Wellbeing Navigators to support and represent individuals affected by mental illness, psychological distress, and substance use or addiction.
* Drawing on personal experience of mental illness or psychological distress and recovery to inform practice.
* Develop and implement strategies to promote the interests and needs of program consumers.
* Maintain accurate records of client interactions and service provision.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
* Personal Experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating health services, including mental health services.
* Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work, SHARC Peer Worker Training, Intentional Peer Support, or willingness to complete.
* 2+ year relevant work experience in a peer worker or leadership role.
* National Police Check.
* Current Working with Children Check - employment.
* NDIS Workers Screening check.
* Evidence of right to work in Australia.
* 100 points of identification.
* NDIS Workers Orientation module certificate – free online course.
