Casual Medical Receptionist – Be the Friendly Face of Our Practice!

My GP Hub is looking for a motivated, positive and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our welcoming and supportive team on a casual basis. If you enjoy helping people, thrive in a busy environment and love being part of a close‐knit team we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As the first friendly face and voice our patients encounter you'll play a key role in creating a warm, professional and caring experience from the moment they contact or visit our practice. No two days are the same making this a rewarding role for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork and making a real difference in people's lives.

Hours & Availability

My GP Hub is open 7 days a week. This role requires flexibility and you may be rostered across a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

1. Answer phones and manage patient bookings and appointments
2. Greet patients and visitors with a friendly, professional approach
3. Support smooth patient flow by working closely with doctors, nurses and clinical staff
4. Process billings, payments, and receipting
5. Maintain and manage medical records, including scanning and filing confidential documents
6. Provide general administrative support to keep the practice running smoothly

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to support both patients and colleagues. Full training will be provided for the right person.

Essential Skills and Attributes

7. Excellent customer service and professional phone manner
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
9. Comfortable using computers (experience with Best Practice or HotDoc is a bonus but not essential)
10. Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time and stay calm in a busy environment
11. High attention to detail and respect for patient confidentiality
12. A team‐focused, proactive and reliable approach to work
13. Ability to work independently and take initiative
14. Quick learner with good problem‐solving skills

Compensation

Pay: $29.00 – $33.45 per hour
