Job Opportunity
The role of the Site Accountant involves overseeing financial accounting, forecasting and reporting for the Ballarat site. The individual will report directly to the Finance Director Operations and collaborate closely with the Ballarat Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Accounting: Oversee and manage all financial transactions, including invoicing, reconciliations and bank statements.
* Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely forecasts and reports to support informed decision making.
* Site Capital Requests: Manage and prioritize site-based capital requests, ensuring that they align with business objectives.
* Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in systems and procedures around accounting and reporting, including direct material tracking and cost per unit analysis.
* Ad-hoc Reporting: Support the Finance Director in ad-hoc Cans divisional reporting and projects.
* Statutory Reporting: Manage statutory reporting, budgeting and strategic analysis.
* Commercial Analysis: Lead commercial analysis and integration.
Requirements
* Tertiary degree in Accountancy, Commerce or Business Administration.
* Post-graduate qualification (CPA or ACA).
* Advanced proficiency in Excel, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* At least 7 to 10 years of experience in financial or management accounting, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
* Excellent financial accounting and systems skills.
* Strong ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.
* A proactive, solution-focused approach with the initiative to challenge the status quo.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
