Overview

Currently we are seeking a Clinical Nurse to join our team. The successful applicant/s will be part of a multidisciplinary team, where they will provide clinical and professional expertise to ensure comprehensive evidence-based nursing care and Case Management is delivered to patients of Intensive Day therapy (IDTU) and residents of the Rockingham Step-Up Step-Down facility (SUSD) known as Kwelena. SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth. Intensive Day Therapy Unit

The Intensive Day Therapy Unit (Boodalang) is a sub-acute service providing non-residential Step-up/Step down services through a day program. The target population for the IDTU is consumers between 16 – 64 years who are significantly disabled by mental illness and/or who require intensive treatment and reside in the PaRK MHS catchment area. The maximum length of treatment within the IDTU will be 12 weeks. All referrals to IDTU for admission must be made through PaRK Mental Health Services.

Kwelena

Kwelenai is a sub-acute 10 bed residential service managed by a partnership between PaRK Mental Health Services (IDTU), AccessHousing and MIND Australia. It provides short term recovery focused residential service for people who would benefit from 24 hour support to avoid a hospital admission or are leaving acute mental health care. The target population for the Rockingham Kwelenafacility is consumers between 16 – 64 years who are significantly disabled by mental illness and/or who require intensive treatment. The maximum length of treatment within the Rockingham Kwelenafacility will be 4 weeks.

This is a recruitment pool for Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Part Time and Casual appointments. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/06/2026. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
