About the role
The Workplace Health & Safety and Injury Management Coordinator is responsible for promoting a safety-first culture across the organisation. This role plays a key part in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of all employees by implementing proactive safety systems, supporting risk prevention strategies, and driving compliance with WHS legislation.
This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of injury management and return to work coordination, and act as an advisor to managers and staff, building capability across the business to identify and manage safety risks and support injured workers in a safe and sustainable return to work.
The position is central to embedding a culture where safety is understood, prioritised, and valued at every level of the organisation. Through education, leadership, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, the role contributes to creating a physically and psychologically safe working environment.
The role provides administrative and operational support to the Compliance, Quality and Safety Manager.
About You
* Experience in coordinating the end-to-end management of workplace injuries, ensuring timely treatment and support.
* You will be required to travel to sites so you must hold a current drivers licence and own a motor vehicle. You will be reimbursed for travel.
* Skilled in liaising with WorkCover agents, injury management consultants, and treating professionals to develop and monitor return to work (RTW) plans.
* Proven ability to act as a central point of contact for injured workers, demonstrating empathy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
* Ability to coach and support managers on best-practice injury management and RTW procedures.
* Experience preparing and submitting workers’ compensation claims and related documentation in line with legislation.
* Knowledge of developing, implementing, and maintaining WHS policies, procedures, and risk frameworks.
* Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture, with proactive hazard identification and control.
* Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and managing incident investigations and corrective actions.
* Skilled in developing and delivering WHS inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training.
