Roper Gulf Regional Council is looking for a committed and experienced Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer(Male) to join our team in Katherine.
Our Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer (ACLO) will work strategically with the community, Councillors, the Council, and stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within the Roper Gulf Regional Council region. The focus will be on advancing reconciliation, promoting self-determination, and fostering sustainable, positive change.
You'll play a key role in:
* Coordinating events like NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week
* Supporting Aboriginal employment and mentoring programs
* Promoting cross-cultural training and engagement
* Driving the implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan
* Building strong relationships with stakeholders and funding bodies
What We're Looking For
* Diploma in Aboriginal Studies, Community Development, or Social Science, or 3+ years' experience in a similar role
* Strong understanding of Aboriginal communities and stakeholder engagement
* Excellent communication, project coordination, and time management skills
* Experience in grant writing, budgeting, and community program delivery
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Salary & Benefits
* Base Salary: $89,905.15– $98,881.53per annum (depending on experience)
