Mathematics Education Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our school in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs, commencing in Term 3. This full-time role is ideal for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to fostering numeracy skills and mathematical thinking in students across Years 7-9.
The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative and professional team that values innovation, inclusive teaching, and ongoing growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian Curriculum
* Lesson Planning: Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
* Teaching Methods: Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies
* Feedback: Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math
* Differentiation: Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed
* Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development
* Collaboration: Collaborate with other math teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices
Requirements:
* Must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia
* Current VIT registration is essential
* Proven experience teaching secondary Maths in Australia/NZ
* Commitment to supporting the Catholic Ethos of the school
* Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
