About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our Pre-Contracts team in a full-time role based at our Head Office on the Sunshine Coast.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will deliver detailed first-principles estimates across a diverse range of civil projects, including transport infrastructure and major earthworks. You will play a key role in shaping winning tender strategies and supporting the continued growth of the business.
This role would also suit a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager looking to transition into a stable office-based position without losing technical challenge or influence.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare first-principles tender and budget estimates for civil construction projects
* Analyse tender documentation, scopes, programs, and risks
* Develop and present accurate, well-structured tender submissions and review materials
* Contribute to tender strategies, methodologies, and value-engineering initiatives
* Attend tender meetings and support client engagement
* Maintain estimating libraries, templates, and historical cost data
* Work closely with senior management, engineers, and key stakeholders to meet deadlines
About You
You will bring a strong technical and commercial mindset, along with the confidence to deliver competitive, high-quality tenders.
Ideally, you will have:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in civil estimating, or strong on-site delivery experience as a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager
* Solid understanding of civil construction methodologies and sequencing
* Experience estimating DTMR projects, ideally at Level R4, B2 (F75)
* Proven ability to manage tenders up to $50 million
* Strong program awareness and ability to identify cost and time impacts
* Well-developed communication skills for internal reviews and client discussions
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred but not essential)
* Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
