We are part of a niche market, that specialises in the installation of Traffic Signals, Public Lighting and Communication Systems in road infrastructure applications. Job tasks and responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of your own projects to meet client time frames and project budgets, whilst meeting the expectations of the various stakeholders involved. Whilst reporting to the construction manager, you will manage several different projects at the one time and will be responsible for your construction team, that will consist of both internal and external resources.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
* Understanding and interpreting drawings - including DBYD
* Completing take offs
* Liaising with suppliers and clients
* Maintaining and building client relationships
* Managing, coordinating and delivering electrical projects
* Procurement of all necessary material and equipment to deliver your project
* Managing the day to day site operations and activities of your construction team.
* Coordinating with other contractors, utilities and authorities
* Ensuring the safe working practise of your construction team
* Ensuring the works meet all applicable standards and specifications
* Preparing all necessary quality documentation
* Quoting and tendering for new projects
* Accountability for progress reports to the Construction Manager
* Updating and developing current systems and processes.
* Ensuring compliance of all company policies and procedures
* Attending site and project meetings
* Conducting internal toolbox meetings
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant must have a minimum of 5 years construction experience involved in road infrastructure projects with a solid understanding on both the civil and electrical elements. You must have either an electrical trade or engineering background with an understanding and appreciation for following process and procedures. In addition you must possess the following skills:
* Excellent problem solving and communication skills
* Advanced skills in MS Project for effective project planning and scheduling
* Be able to work in a team environment and independently as required
* Demonstrated solid leadership qualities
* Ability to work under pressure
* Have the right attitude towards your work
* Focus and driven
* High level of attention to detail and the ability to multi task.
* Strong organisational skills
* Must have a full Drivers license
* White Card certification is mandatory for this position
