About the Role
Step into a rewarding teaching opportunity where your industry expertise meets a motivated cohort eager to learn. As Teacher – Celebrancy, you lead The Gordon's CHC41015 Certificate IV in Celebrancy program, fully developed and ready for your professional input.
You will guide students preparing for careers as Funeral, Marriage, Family and Community celebrants, helping them find their voice at life's most important moments. Through interactive, story-based learning, you will translate real ceremony experience into skills, confidence and professional standards. The program addresses specific legislative responsibilities for marriage celebrants and links directly to national registration requirements, so your role has genuine impact on the quality and integrity of celebrancy practice across the community.
Some key responsibilities for this role include (not limited to):
* Lead engaging delivery and assessment of CHC41015 Certificate IV in Celebrancy, including marriage and funeral celebrancy units.
* Tailor an established program with your own industry stories, examples, activities and assessments, in collaboration with the Program Lead.
* Facilitate interactive workshops, role plays, ceremony simulations and reflective, discussion-led classes.
* Ensure compliance with legislative responsibilities, Attorney-General's Department requirements and national registration standards for marriage celebrants.
* Support and mentor students as they begin a deeply personal career pathway, offering constructive feedback, encouragement and professional guidance.
* Work alongside industry-based specialists and colleagues who remain active in both funeral and wedding industries, keeping learning current and relevant.

About You:
You are a passionate celebrant and experienced educator who understands the requirements of delivering nationally recognised VET training and assessing to the highest standards.
You value inclusion, cultural safety and meaningful ceremony. You enjoy working with adult learners, passing on real-world wisdom and helping emerging professionals grow in confidence, skill and ethical practice.
Additionally, you will have:
* Teaching experience in VET or adult education, with confidence in facilitating interactive, discussion-led and practice-based learning.
* A degree, diploma or other approved tertiary qualification in a relevant vocational discipline, enabling delivery of CHC41015 Certificate IV in Celebrancy.
* Current or recent celebrancy practice, with real ceremony experience across weddings, funerals, naming days and cultural or community ceremonies (at least 20 weddings and 20 funerals).
* Registration for a minimum of three years as a Commonwealth-registered Marriage Celebrant
* Demonstrated, current knowledge, skills and experience in design, delivery and assessment of training in marriage and funeral celebrancy, including compliance with Attorney-General's Department expectations for marriage celebrancy electives.
* A strong commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
* Strong storytelling, presence and people skills, with commitment to inclusive practice, cultural safety, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, trauma-informed approaches and respect for diverse belief systems.
It is highly desired, and would be advantageous, if you hold a Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, equivalent or higher, or bring a clear willingness to complete this (or equivalent) within the next two years.

Salary Range:
Teacher L1.1 to L1.3 | $83,367 to $95,077 p.a. (pro rata) | AQF4 teaching qualification
Teacher L2.1 to L2.4 | $96,460 to $107,118 p.a. (pro rata) | AQF5 teaching qualification
Teacher L3.1 to L3.5 | $110,522 to $126,983 p.a. (pro rata) | AQF6+ teaching qualification
Superannuation is paid at the current superannuation guarantee rate.
