Experienced Vineyard Operator
Yangarra Estate Vineyard and Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard are two highly acclaimed certified organic vineyards in the McLaren Vale Wine Region.
Reporting to the Vineyard Manager, this position based in Kangarilla requires an efficient and hard-working Vineyard Operator to work closely with the vineyard team to achieve the timely completion of all vineyard operations. You will be required to demonstrate the ability to think quickly on your feet, show initiative, be reliable and use your time effectively.
Key responsibilities and duties include;
* Manual Vine Operations including pruning, training and canopy management
* Mechanical Vine Operations including spraying, slashing, trimming, undervine weeding
* Harvest Operations – both mechanical and hand harvesting
* Organic chemical application and recording processes – multirow spray unit
* Fencing and Trellis repairs and maintenance
* Irrigation maintenance
* Responsible for servicing and general repairs/maintenance of vineyard equipment
* Responsible for WH&S compliance and ensuring that all work activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and policies
It is expected that all applicants can demonstrate the following attributes:
* Practical skills, operation of tractor, Machine Harvester and associated equipment
* Current driver's licence
* MR and forklift license desirable
* Ability to work hours under shift arrangements (eg. Up to 12 hours day/night and weekends as required)
* Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team and autonomously
* Proven highly developed organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
* Good mechanical knowledge
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Effective communication skills.
* Sound understanding of WHS legislation and policies
