Sventek Cranes & Rigging is seeking a Part-time Estimator with demonstrated experience in the construction and crane services sector.
The Estimator will be responsible for the accurate preparation of cost estimates and tenders for the erection of structural steel projects, precast erection projects, glulam timber installations and related crane and rigging services.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for structural steel and precast panel erection construction projects, glulam timber installations and related construction services
* Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and lift requirements
* Assess site conditions, access constraints, crane selection, and rigging methodologies
* Liaise with operations, project management, and management to develop safe and efficient lift solutions
* Conduct site inspections where required to validate project information
* Obtain and evaluate supplier, subcontractor, and transport pricing
* Prepare tender submissions, quotations, and supporting documentation
* Assist with variation pricing, cost tracking, and post-project cost analysis
* Maintain accurate estimating records and ensure compliance with company procedures and WHS requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction, crane hire, or rigging industry
* Strong understanding of crane operations, rigging practices, and lift planning
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction documentation
* Sound knowledge of construction methodologies, logistics, and site safety requirements
* Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
* High level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills
* Multi-tasking and excellent problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in estimating software such as bluebeam, Excel, Microsoft Office and potential 3D modelling software.
* Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to strict deadlines
