Senior Communications Officer





At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.





* X3 full-time temporary opportunities (one 12-month and two 3-month positions)

* Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available

* Clerk Grade 9/10 - $129,464 – $142,666 plus superannuation and leave loading.



About the role



Join the Early Childhood Education and Care Strategic Communications team at a pivotal time for the sector, and help shape communications that supports children, families and early learning services across NSW.



The Senior Communications Officer coordinates and executes the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of strategies, programs and projects for the Directorate’s integrated communications programs. The responsibilities involve:

* Designing and delivering communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for priority programs

* Gathering insights and identifying emerging issues and opportunities

* Developing clear, targeted communications for parents and carers

* Managing multi-channel communications (newsletters, campaigns, briefings, forums, webinars, digital content)

* Preparing high-quality reports, submissions, correspondence and briefings.

About you



* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. communications) or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.

* Strong at communication and stakeholder engagement.

* Experience delivering digital materials across web, newsletters and social channels.

* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.



Essential requirements of the role



* Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.

* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
