You've finished your degree. Now you're ready to discover how accounting really works. Beyond the theory, you will learn about the clients, their businesses, important deadlines, the software systems, and the rhythm of business services life.

At HMW Group, you'll work from a spacious Maroochydore office surrounded by good people who enjoy what they do. Every Friday, you finish an hour early. Every year, you'll see how a long term accounting career actually gets built. After 12 months of training and confidence building, you'll have the option to spend a day working from home.
The Role
Within your first six months, you'll learn the firm's workflow, systems, and standards, and get hands on with real client work. Xero will be your core platform as you tidy up client files, set up trading and bucket companies and investment trusts, and complete movement journals. You'll also learn to use software such as Now Infinity, ASIC Connect, MYOB AE, Xero PM, Docusign, Class, and Visio.
If you've already completed internships or have some experience, we'll keep adding to those foundations and help you progress faster.
There'll be variety too - sometimes it's helping with administration, collecting mail, or unpacking the dishwasher. It's part of being in a small, connected office where everyone contributes.
As you progress, you'll prepare basic tax returns, draft financial statements for small entities, and learn about Self Managed Super Funds. As your confidence grows, you'll take ownership of smaller jobs end to end (with review), prepare management reports, and strengthen your client communication skills.
We encourage CA studies, with reimbursement once you pass each subject, plus two study leave days per subject.
About You
You have your accounting degree (or will be finished in November this year) and you're ready to work full time. You're the kind of person who asks questions and takes ownership once you know what to do. You're keen to keep learning and take the next step toward your CA. Full time working rights and permanent residency of Australia is essential.
