This position is situated within the Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) Program, which delivers intensive and time-limited care for children and young people in statutory care. The TRC Program responds to the complex impacts of abuse, neglect, and separation from family.
The Therapeutic Specialist provides therapeutic leadership and trauma-informed interventions based on sound practice expertise and contemporary research, achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver therapeutic care to children and young people
* Provide leadership and supervision to team members
* Develop and implement treatment plans
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values
* Appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline
* Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
* Post-graduate training in child, adolescent, and family clinical practice
