Service Station Manager Position
The Service Station Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service station, including fuel sales, convenience store management, staff supervision, customer service, stock control, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Management:
o Oversee day-to-day operations of the service station including fuel pumps, car wash, and convenience store.
o Monitor and maintain stock levels for fuel, groceries, and other products.
o Ensure all equipment is operational and schedule maintenance or repairs as required.
o Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards for the shop and forecourt.
* Staff Supervision:
o Recruit, train, and supervise staff members including cashiers and fuel attendants.
o Prepare rosters and manage shift coverage.
o Conduct staff performance reviews and provide ongoing support and coaching.
* Customer Service:
o Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
o Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
* Sales and Financial Management:
o Monitor daily sales, prepare reports, and manage cash handling procedures.
o Analyse sales trends and implement strategies to meet revenue targets.
o Authorise discounts, refunds, and price changes as appropriate.
* Safety & Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with OH&S, fuel handling, and environmental safety regulations.
o Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
o Train staff in emergency response and safety protocols.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a service station or fast-paced retail environment.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
* Knowledge of POS systems and stock control software.
* Understanding of health and safety and environmental compliance in a fuel retail setting.
This role ensures the service station is profitable, clean, safe, and provides a high standard of customer service. The Service Station Manager will play a key part in driving business growth and improving customer satisfaction.
