About the Role: Due to ongoing growth of the business, Edge Consulting Engineers is looking for a 12d Civil Designer to join our team. Intermediate Civil Designers provide design and drafting support by working alongside other Civil Designers to deliver work within the project timeframe.
Responsibilities
* Consult across all phases of project delivery from schematic design to completion
* Undertake detailed engineering design
* Preparation of Development Approval Reporting and Packages
* Site Assessment and Planning
* Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work
* Work closely with technical staff and ensure project work is carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget
* Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved
* Coordinate your work with other members of the project team and ensure all relevant staff are informed of client matters
* Attend meetings and site inspections
* Ensure involvement in project co‑ordination activities with survey, architectural and other consultants as required
* Update and maintain the record copy and current folders to ensure current information is available to all
* Know the locations and utilise the EDGE Civil Standard Details on all projects
* Manage drafting deliverables to achieve project deadlines
* Produce clear, concise civil documentation in conjunction with the EDGE checking and reviewing process
* Contribute to EDGE through efficient design and drafting practices and workflows
* Work with staff to ensure deadlines are met
* Take ownership of projects you are assigned to and respond to all requests including from the Lead Civil Design / Drafter or Engineer in a timely manner

Key Capability Requirements
* 3+ years engineering design experience (intermediate to senior designers)
* Completed a Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma – desirable
* Competency with AutoCAD, 12d
* Competency in modelling earthworks surfaces for urban land subdivisions and volume calculations
* Competency in the design and documentation of civil engineering infrastructure for urban land subdivisions
* Strong knowledge of local design standards
