Endeavour Christian College is seeking an experienced Bus Driver to operate our Lakeland to Cooktown AM and PM Bus Service, with additional grounds and maintenance hours available.
Bus Driver Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and field trips in a timely and skilled manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate relevant machinery, including driving a bus
- Complete all morning and afternoon bus runs to Lakeland and possibly excursion and camp runs as required during term time
- Attend all driver training as required and comply with all requirements of the training
- Ensure that a high level of bus safety is maintained and that students follow the instructions for safe bus travel
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the general community as required in a polite and qualified manner
- Ensure that all procedures and documentation comply with the Transport Manager’s directives and all College administrative and safety policies
Requirements:
- Hold a minimum MR QLD Drivers Licence and Drivers Authority
- Have a valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Hold a Blue card (WWC) or ability to obtain
- Ability to safely operate a bus, including steering, braking, and checking mirrors
Working Conditions:
Work hours typically coincide with school start and dismissal times; may include occasional evenings or weekends for field trips or special events.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving and to assist students as needed.
