Multiple, fixed term roles - An exciting opportunity for Student Midwives to join the Women and Children's - Maternity Unit.

The Team:

Launch into a Midwifery position that will deliver variety and growth within our Maternity Service.

* The RHH is the tertiary referral centre for Tasmania, we have around 2000 births each year.

All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

We invite Student Midwivesto join our vibrant Maternity Unit and gain hands‐on clinical experience in a safe, collaborative, and empowering learning environment, this position will enable eligibility to apply to study with UTAS.

You will need:

* Demonstrated experience in the acute care setting.
* Knowledge of and the ability to apply current nursing and midwifery principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of woman centric care in a designated practice area.
* Current knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

Details of appointment:

Multiple, Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing in June 2026 for a period up to twelve (12) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:$80,524 to $102,295 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023

Salary Packaging:

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Confirmation of enrolment in a midwifery course accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

Current Working with Children Registration
