Hays are partnered with a volunteer-based emergency service that plays a critical role in preparing for and responding to emergencies such as floods, storms, tsunamis, earthquakes, and landslides. Serving as the control agency for these hazards, it operates within the broader emergency management sector to ensure community safety and well-being through collaborative efforts amongst various agencies.
As part of the largest road rescue network in Australia, this service has specialist teams that provide round-the-clock responses to road accidents and trauma incidents. It assists in search and rescue operations and supports other emergency services during major incidents such as bushfires and other emergencies.
The service also works closely with municipal councils and key partners to enhance emergency management planning and operations. This includes offering guidance to ensure compliance with relevant emergency management laws and responsibilities.
Your new role
The role of Asset Officer is dynamic and varied, situated within the Assets business unit. This position involves delivering comprehensive asset management assistance. It provides critical support to the Manager of Assets and the wider team by managing a diverse range of tasks. These include drafting and preparing communication materials and briefs, reviewing policies and procedures, compiling information for reports and presentations, and fulfilling duties for the logistics and fleet centres at a state level.

* Work Schedule: Part-time in office. Mon-Fri - hours can be split across a 3, 4 or 5-day working week. 22-30 hours
* Compensation: $60.16ph +Super
* 3-month assignment - no extension available
What you'll need to succeed
The Asset Officer supports asset management by coordinating schedules, maintenance plans, and projects, while ensuring effective communication across teams. Key responsibilities include tracking progress, preparing reports, addressing logistics and fleet issues, and managing system tickets and performance data. The role involves office management for logistics and fleet centres, organising team activities, and maintaining compliance with records policies. Strong multitasking, communication, and financial skills are essential, along with flexibility to assist with other tasks as directed. Experience with SAP finance systems is advantageous.
