Overview

This is a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2025.

Newton Moore Senior High School (SHS) provides students from Year 7 to 12 with a personalised educational experience. The school, at the heart of South Bunbury, has a strong sense of community and celebrates the strengths of students through a variety of innovative programs. The school delivers two Department of Education Approved Specialist Academic Programs: Science Horizons and Engineering. The Role

The Student Services Support Officer plays a vital part in delivering a responsive and effective student support service by coordinating a range of administrative functions within the Student Services team. The successful applicant will manage reception duties, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and identify student needs to ensure timely referrals to appropriate support staff. They maintain student databases and records, and support the operation of systems related to attendance, behaviour, and personal data. A key aspect of the role involves generating reports and correspondence, contributing to strategy development, and supporting the Principal and Student Services team with accurate and timely information.

In addition to core administrative responsibilities, the role includes developing materials and ensuring compliance with departmental procedures. The position requires collaboration across school teams, providing support for events, excursions, and special projects as needed. Ideally, the successful applicant will display commitment to confidentiality, efficiency, and continuous improvement in administrative processes, helping to foster a well-organised and student-focused environment.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

- be an Australian or Recent Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

- Demonstrated ability using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Demonstrated good customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
