As an Environmental Health Officer, you play a vital role in protecting and promoting community health. You are based at Garden City Office Park, delivering evidence-based services, supporting public health investigations, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
About Your Role:
* You administer public health legislation in Queensland.
* You undertake investigations into environmental and public health matters.
* You provide advice and education to industry, the community, and stakeholders.
* You work collaboratively with health professionals, regulators, and agencies.
* You contribute to service improvement, research, and public health initiatives.
* You support and mentor technical staff and Environmental Health students.
* You maintain accurate documentation and records in line with legal requirements.
About You:
You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional with a passion for public health and community wellbeing. You thrive in collaborative environments, demonstrate strong communication skills, and bring technical expertise to environmental health practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* You hold a tertiary qualification accredited by Environmental Health Australia.
* You are willing to complete a Certificate IV in Government Investigations.
* You can provide high-quality, evidence-based environmental health services.
* You have strong investigative, problem-solving, and time management skills.
* You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging industry and community stakeholders.
* You commit to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
* You are able to participate in on-call and after-hours work.
* You can pack and lift boxes up to 15kg in weight.
