We have 2 brand new opportunities for Recycling /Yard Operator’s to join our friendly Toowoomba team. These are fixed afternoon shifts where you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of recycling machinery, including wash plant, granulation, shredders, material blending and pelletising, converting scrap into reusable products. In this role you will manage the intake and output of a variety of plastic materials and perform pipe and product handling operations as needed, to break down large or bulky scrap, to support both material flow and extrusion process. What will you do?
* Operate shredding, wash plant and recycling machinery to convert all site scrap into pelletised or granulated form for reprocessing, including associated plant cleaning.
* Monitor machinery during operation and perform minor adjustments or maintenance as needed.
* Perform chainsaw operations safely to reduce oversized or contaminated scrap to manageable size for processing.
* Manage the intake of recyclable materials, including unloading, inspection, and sorting
* Assist in general yard duties including truck loading/unloading and material handling when required.
* Maintain clear and accurate records of recycled material quantities, quality, and movement.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace, in line with 5S and site safety expectations.
About you
* Current Forklift Licence (essential) and own transport
* You enjoy working outdoors, working with machinery and experienced in industrial processing, waste handling/blending, and continuous manufacturing operations (advantageous)
* A strong safety-first mindset with a positive can-do attitude and able to work both autonomously as well as part of a team
* You are competent in manual handling and able to unload and load trucks with an understanding of load restraint and Chain of Responsibility
* Someone who’s reliable, proactive, flexible, collaborative and wants to share ideas on continuous improvement
* Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with full working rights.
