What you will be doing
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Field Operations and Support, in this role you will be responsible for:
- Developing, planning and leading projects related to field operations
- Coordinating activities undertaken by temporary staff in the field to deliver major election events
- Liaising with stakeholders across the VEC to gather information and requirements for activities to be undertaken in the field, and provide advice for election delivery
- Leading significant continuous improvement work in the field operations space to address identified areas though election debriefs and internal reviews
- Working with our team of policy and procedural owners, and event program management team to identify further opportunities for improvement for field delivery
What you will bring to the role:
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing the delivery and performance of operational delivery teams
- Proven high-level analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to deliver multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a time critical environment
- Experience in election management or large-scale events is highly desirable
- Commitment to the VEC's core values
