The opportunity

A rewarding opportunity is currently available for a skilled Allied Health Assistantto join the team, consolidating and implementing your skills across a broad spectrum of neurological clinical areas. This is a 3 day per week Part- Time Role with availability required on a Wednesday and Thursday.

There is a significant and growing need for Allied Health Assistant input, to support our existing Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Exercise Physiology services, particularly with NDIS participants.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to use your skills and knowledge across the spectrum of neurological clinical areas, working together with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Exercise Physiologists.

Work alongside and absorb knowledge, formally and informally, from your new colleagues. Steps has highly experienced therapists who work in complex wheelchair prescription, gait and running re-training, complete and in-complete spinal cord injury, mild, moderate and severe TBI presentations, electrical stimulation, vestibular rehabilitation, management of complex neurological upper limb presentations and more.

What you'll be doing

* Assisting physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and occupational therapists in the delivery of individualised treatment plans for clients with neurological conditions. Sessions may be clinic or home based, or delivered in community gym or hydrotherapy pools
* Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate clinical records
* Preparing treatment areas and equipment as needed
* Sourcing information and quotes for equipment as directed by the treating therapist
* Assisting therapists with client related administrative tasks
* Assisting with therapy sessions, equipment tidy up and equipment maintenance
* Assisting with Quality Improvement activities

What we are looking for

* Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent qualification
* Current unrestricted working rights
* Current CPR certification
* Experience working in a neurological or rehabilitation setting, preferably in a private practice or hospital environment
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Drivers licence and access to a car if the company cars are not available
* Excellent organisational and time management skills

· Compassion, empathy and a genuine desire to support clients in their rehabilitation journey
