Cement Equipment Technician
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Cement Equipment Technician to provide mechanical maintenance and repairs for various equipment in our cement division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our machinery.
Responsibilities:
* Perform routine safety checks and adhere to all relevant safety protocols and regulations.
* Provide comprehensive mechanical maintenance services, including repair, maintenance, and lubrication of engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
* Inspect used parts to assess dimensional changes.
* Operate light mobile equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and portable welding machines.
* Report equipment breakdowns to generate work orders.
* Communicate effectively using two-way radios.
* Maintain equipment cleanliness and safety standards.
* Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor or Management.
Requirements:
* A safety-conscious individual with a strong commitment to workplace safety.
* The ability to speak, read, and write in English fluently.
* An understanding of oral and written instructions for repair work.
* Basic record-keeping skills for repair activities.
* Timely completion of assigned tasks.
* Knowledge of occupational hazards and related safety practices.
* Diagnostics of equipment problems using computerized test equipment.
* Ability to read and understand technical service manuals.
* Proficiency in computer operation.
* Mobile crane operation certification (training provided upon satisfactory completion).
* A valid Florida Driver's License and clean Motor Vehicle Record.
* A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work in confined spaces.
* Overtime, weekend, on-call, and beeper flexibility.
* Heavy physical demands, including walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, or hearing.
* G-3 welding certification.
* Ability to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
