We are seeking an experienced Lead Analyst to join us in a strategic Line 1 role, supporting Bank’s key policy areas to strengthen risk culture and progressively enhance risk management practices and control environment. This is a newly created role, where you will support the Payments Policy, Financial Stability, Monetary Policy Strategy, Economic Analysis and Economic Research departments in fulfilling their Line 1 responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing material risks in a policy environment and ensuring we remain proactive in an ever-evolving risk landscape. The role will assist our management of material risks and ensure we stay ahead in an ever-evolving risk landscape. As a Lead Analyst you will: Promote a strong risk cultureby fostering awareness and encouraging leaders and team members to take proactive ownership of risks and mitigating controls. Support the identification, assessment, and management of risks and controlsto help departments achieve their business objectives effectively. Assist in the development of robust internal controlsto mitigate material risk exposures, and support control owners in the ongoing testing of key controls. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management practices, escalating gaps and concerns to senior management as appropriate. Provide advice on risk incidents, including assessment, root cause analysis, and remediation planning. Support the accurate identification, logging, and management of risks, controls, issues, and incidentswithin the Risk Management System (RMS), ensuring adherence to quality standards. Maintain the integrity of risk databy overseeing data hygiene and reporting within the RBA’s risk management system. Contribute to a community of practice, sharing insights and best practices to enhance consistency and deepen understanding of risk management across the RBA. Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk and Compliance Team (Line 2) and Internal Auditto deliver integrated assurance to the Governance Board and Board Audit & Risk Committee. Support the preparation of reporting and analytics to build awareness and transparency of material risk exposures. Co-ordinate and lead regular risk forums where reports are presented to the leadership team. Your Background 5 years experience in a Line 1 or Line 2 operational risk and compliance role, ideally experience in public policy or in a regulatory agency. Demonstrated experience supporting the learning and development of business stakeholders in practical risk management. Ability to apply skills and experience to the management of risks in a policy environment. Demonstrated ability in supporting a business to strengthen risk culture and risk management practices. Experience in design, build and implementation of risk and compliance frameworks, coaching and training. Understanding of enterprise -wide risk and compliance management frameworks, policies and standards. Experience in uplifting operational resilience and implementing operational risk management standards in an APRA‑regulated organisation is highly desirable. Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, risk, compliance or related discipline, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated negotiation and resolution management skills.
