Responsibilities
- Responsible for the mainly dinner services for assigned section.
- Assists the Chef de Partie to set up the assigned section of the Kitchen.
- Ensures that all dishes from that section are prepared consistently and according to standard.
- Assigns responsibilities to team members and supervises performance, coaching and training where necessary.
- Responsible for checking all incoming food items, ensuring they are stored correctly as per hygiene regulations.
- Maintains mise-en-place for the assigned section at an appropriate level.
- Ensures that all food safety and hygiene practices are in place.
Qualifications
- One year or more work experience as a Demi Chef and/or Commis Chef in a hotel or restaurant with good standards (preferred).
- Completion of Chef Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Good Hygiene Knowledge.
- Effective trainer, experienced in the delivery of skills training.
- Safe and accurate knife skills.
- Knowledge and experience in a variety of different cooking methods.
