About the Role
As an Ophthalmic Medical Technician, you will work closely with our GPs to perform diagnostic eye tests, assist during examinations, and ensure smooth patient flow throughout the clinic. Most specifically to use The iPredict system, which is an automated, AI-based software tool from iHealthScreen for eye screening. This is an excellent chance for candidates who are passionate about eye health and enjoy working in a collaborative medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preliminary eye tests, including visual acuity, refraction screening, lensometry, and pupil assessments
Operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment such as OCT, fundus camera, visual field analyser, autorefractor, and biometry devices, including but no limited to the iPredict system
Record accurate patient history and clinical findings
Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and minor procedures
Prepare and maintain equipment, ensuring a clean and safe clinical environment
Support patient education on eye conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up requirements
Manage patient flow, appointment preparations, and documentation within clinical software systems
About You
Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, Orthoptist assistant, or similar preferred
Strong interest in ophthalmology and diagnostic eye testing
Excellent communication and patient-care skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment
Solid attention to detail and valuable computer literacy
Training will be provided for outstanding candidates with the right attitude

Pay: $49,900.00 – $96,184.28 per year
