About The Role
On average the Civic Theatre has 165 performances per annum equating to an average of three shows a week 52 weeks of the year. The Riverway Arts Centre averages 75 performances per year but has the capacity to service the function and meeting market which increases its yearly usage by another 245 activities annually. The council through its Public Performance Program presents a diverse range of drama, dance, music and opera from national and international artists and organisations.

This position supports the technical unit by undertaking theatre and function set ups, operating theatrical equipment and assisting in the upkeep of Council's performance venues and systems.

About You
The ideal candidate is a proactive and technically skilled individual with hands-on experience in staging, lighting, audio, or vision within live entertainment or theatrical settings. They possess a strong grasp of theatre technical systems and are confident working across Microsoft Office applications to support operational needs. Known for their outstanding customer service and communication skills, they thrive both independently and as part of a team, tackling challenges with a solutions-focused mindset. With the physical capability to perform manual tasks, they're well-prepared for the dynamic demands of the role. Their flexibility to work varied hours—including weekends—complements their passion for creating seamless and impactful event experiences.
