Events ACT is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Event Officer to join our Event Delivery team. This is your opportunity to join the team responsible for the operational planning and delivery of some of Canberra's most iconic public events—from Floriade to the Enlighten Festival, the Canberra Balloon Spectacular, New Year's Eve celebrations, and more.
As a Senior Event Officer, you will be part of the team contributing to (and at times taking the lead on) key tasks required to turn creative concepts into well-executed realities. From site mapping to supplier coordination, volunteer engagement to program management, transport planning to emergency management —you will be across it all to ensure everything runs smoothly, safely, and on budget.
You Will Bring
* Demonstrated experience in delivering large outdoor event or highly transferrable skills
* Knowledge of event best practice and project management skills
* The ability to juggle competing priorities under pressure in an ever-changing environment with a calm, solutions-focused mindset
* A passion for public events and community impact
* Experience in WHS, risk management, and operational logistics

Eligibility/Other requirements: This role will require some weekend, evening and public holiday work during key event delivery periods.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
