Position Overview
Permanent part‐time support worker role (22.8 hours per week over 3 days) based in Darwin, NT. Salary $35.41 per hour plus superannuation and not‐for‐profit salary packaging.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide practical, person‐centred support to participants, including assistance with appointments, transport, and day‐to‐day needs under supervision.
* Support participants with intake, registration, and necessary paperwork to ensure smooth access to services.
* Assist with the implementation of case plans that are sensitive to cultural strengths and individual needs.
* Conduct participant inductions and provide outreach support as required.
* Participate in group work and basic life‐skills coaching to support individuals and families.
* Contribute to the development and smooth operation of the program through team involvement, projects, and quality improvement activities.
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships and promote effective service delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Relevant diploma or certificate in a related field; some experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential.
* Current valid WWCC and driver's licence.
* Ability to follow policies and procedures while learning new processes quickly.
* Basic administrative, written, and verbal communication skills, including familiarity with databases and mobile technology.
* Strong listening skills and a positive, person‐centred approach that believes in participants' capacity to grow.
* Professional approach, including maintaining appropriate boundaries.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a supportive workplace.
* Willingness to learn and develop skills while actively supporting participants in achieving their goals.
* Requirement to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
