Environmental Professional
The Environmental Officer will play a pivotal role in our Environment and Cultural Heritage Team, responsible for implementing environmental processes and specifications on projects.
This position supports environmental management strategies, promotes sustainability, and maintains client relationships through effective communication and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake the roles and responsibilities of an Environmental Officer.
* Ensure environmental issues and aspects are managed for the delivery of various projects.
* Provide high-level technical advice on the management of environmental values.
* Conduct environmental assessments, prepare reports, and conduct environmental inductions as required.
Requirements:
* University degree in environmental science or equivalent discipline.
* 2-5+ years of experience in ecological or environmental projects.
* Suitability as a Qualified Person for conducting Protected Flora and Fauna Surveys is advantageous.
* Qualifications and competence in Queensland BioCondition are beneficial.
* Understanding of ecological survey methods.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
* Experience with GIS software including QGIS and ArcGIS.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Current first aid certificate.
* Class C Driver's License.
* Experience in fauna handling and venomous snake handling.
* Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various conditions.
* Willingness to travel and work away from home for extended periods.
