About the role

The City of Swan is on the hunt for a self-motivated individual who is looking to develop their career, whilst making a meaningful and direct contribution to improving the quality of life of the community.

Currently, there is one position available to be applied for as part of the Graduate Engineer Program: Development Engineer - Urban Development.

We offer outstanding development programs for graduates, with job rotations in our various teams enabling you to gain experience across a broad portfolio of careers. The City has a friendly and supportive culture that recognises the value that Graduate Engineers bring, and you will immediately be provided with personal responsibility for the completion of operational requirements to make a real personal impact on the organisation. This will equip you with the tools for future career success, with many Local Government Executive, Managers and Technical Experts setting the foundation for their engineering careers through this program.

You will rotate through all areas of the Division gaining experience in project management, construction, maintenance, asset management, sub-divisional engineering, facility management, fleet management, waste management, recycling, traffic engineering, tender administration and contract management.

You will also be supported with extensive career development opportunities such as; technical training, financial assistance for further study; mentoring from established professionals; opportunities to act in leadership roles; and support to attain Chartered Status through Engineers Australia.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

* A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering;
* The ability to deliver a high level of customer service to internal and external customers
* Strong team leadership skills;
* Proven oral and written communication skills;
* A current Construction Safety Awareness Training Card, current National Police Clearance and C-Class Driver's Licence are required.

The salary for this position will be from $94,386.53 to $112,499.22 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.

About the City

The City of Swan, located north east of Perth, is the largest local government by land size in the Perth metropolitan area, and has one of the fastest growing populations.
