Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Electrician to join our Brisbane team.
This is a varied, hands-on role maintaining, repairing, and installing diesel generators and auxiliary equipment across our workshop and field operations. Some travel within QLD and interstate will be required.
In addition to carrying out core electrical duties, this role provides technical leadership, mentoring, and advanced support to the broader team, while working closely with our sales and engineering functions.
Position Duties
* Conducting inspections and diagnosing technical issues across diesel generators and auxiliary equipment
* Performing routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs of plant and equipment
* Advanced fault-finding, problem solving, and technical repairs
* Providing advanced local and remote technical support to field technicians
* Carrying out on-site project installations as required
* Mentoring, supporting, and developing other electricians and technicians
* Providing supplementary technical support to Viking sales and engineering teams
* Completing service reports and maintaining accurate records of work performed
* Complying with all safety requirements and promoting a strong safety culture
* Participating in on-call breakdown response when available
About You
* Hold relevant electrical qualifications
* Previous power generation experience (highly regarded)
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
* Strong mentoring mindset with the ability to lift team capability
* Reliable, proactive, and able to work autonomously
* Team-focused with a collaborative and professional attitude
* Results-driven and action-oriented problem solver
* Basic computer skills
* Current driver’s licence
* Current construction industry White Card
