Community Protection Specialist
Job Description:
The Shire of Narrogin seeks a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Community Protection Specialist. As a key member of our community protection program, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and animals alike.
Key Responsibilities:
* Enforce local laws and regulations to maintain public order and safety
* Educate the public on community protection principles and practices
* Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to achieve community protection goals
* Respond to emergencies and provide support during critical situations
* Conduct regular inspections and patrols to monitor compliance with local laws and regulations
Required Qualifications and Skills:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A certificate in Local Government Law Enforcement (or working towards)
* A current Senior First Aid Certificate
* Previous experience in a regulatory or enforcement role
* Demonstrated experience in animal handling and bushfire control
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong problem-solving and judgment skills
* Effective time management and organisational skills
* Report writing and administrative competence
* Working knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws
* Understanding of emergency management and crime prevention principles
Benefits:

* $58,379 – $69,690 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
