About the role:
The Asset Management team is currently seeking a Long Term Planner Assets – Processing, to join them in on a 5:2 roster, based at the Perth office. Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Planning Proc, the long-term planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the long-term maintenance planning framework for Hancock Iron Ore's assets. This role ensures the integration of long-term, medium-term, and shutdown planning, and is accountable for the development and management of the Maintenance Cost Budget, periodic reforecasting, and the Major Events Calendar.
The position is critical in providing visibility of future maintenance requirements, optimising resource allocation, and supporting the long-term sustainability and reliability of Hancock Iron Ores's operations.
Duties:
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Long Term Planning framework
Provide guidance and support to planning team members and stakeholders, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Supply, and Finance teams to ensure integrated planning and effective resource allocation across the wider Hancock Iron Ore system
Drive continuous improvement of the work management system and lead small improvement projects
Maintain and update SAP Master Data, ensuring data integrity for all technical objects, maintenance plans, task lists, and associated cost elements.
Develop the annual zero-based Maintenance Cost Budget with a life-of-mine view, including all required materials, labour, and external services.
Manage triannual reforecasting of maintenance costs, ensuring alignment with the Medium Term Plan and business priorities.
Define shutdown requirements, including duration drivers, cost estimates, and resource assumptions, and ensure structured handover to execution teams.
Conduct historical cost analysis and risk-based reviews to inform budget development and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and reliability improvement.
Provide regular reports and insights to Asset Management, Maintenance, Finance, and other stakeholders on budget performance, forecast variances, and improvement actions.Systems, Processes & Procedures
Skills and Experience:
Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module, including management of technical objects, maintenance plans, task lists, BOMs, and measuring points.
Extensive experience in long-term or strategic maintenance planning, budgeting and cost management
Experience in maintenance planning for fixed plant processing assets such as balance machines, conveyors, crushers, apron feeders etc
Proficient in developing simple Power BI dashboards
Proficient in the use of the Asset Cost & Lifecycle Manager (ACLM) system for developing and managing maintenance cost budgets and forecasts.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
