Social Procurement Specialist Role
The Social Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in fostering partnerships with Aboriginal businesses, Social Enterprises, Australian Disability Enterprises, and local businesses to optimize the social procurement strategy.
This involves working closely with the Commercial, People, and Construction teams to drive strategy and industry capability development activities, ensuring sustainable business growth while maintaining best-for-project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting the procurement team with tenders and onboarding in relation to social inclusion and procurement KPIs and TIPP requirements.
* Providing expertise on the South Australian Industry Participation Policy and Social Procurement Strategy.
* Establishing, developing, and maintaining beneficial and strategic relationships with relevant external industry stakeholders, including Social Enterprises, Aboriginal Businesses, and subcontractors.
* Managing regular meetings with internal stakeholders, including Commercial, Construction, and People, to ensure all targets are met and opportunities and outcomes are adequately leveraged.
* Understanding project needs regarding diversity and social inclusion and identifying ways to address these as required.
* Providing advice and guidance to key Program, Project, Commercial, and Procurement resources on commercial risks arising from procurement processes, recommending practical and sound solutions and participating in their implementation.

The ideal candidate will possess:
* Demonstrated experience within a similar role, specifically within Industry Capability Development, Social Engagement, Workforce Development, or Procurement.
* Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
* Highly developed communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
* Experience in leading and supporting organizational change and strategic initiatives to drive social procurement.
* Experience in business development and contract management.
